Ripe Bananas ~ Keep them from turning brown and why they are good to have around...

Did you know that by wrapping the crown of Bananas in plastic wrap it makes them last longer?

You can wrap the stem or crown of the bunch or for them to last even longer you can separate the Bananas and then wrap each crown individually.

The science behind it is that Bananas contain ethylene which controls the enzyme process which causes browning and ripening. As the gas escapes through the stem or crown of the banana it ripens. By wrapping the stem you slow down this process..
